General Manager

Perquisite

• Leadership role within a recognized cultural organization in Quebec;
• Rewarding mission and work focused on the development of shows and projects for the general public and the educational environment;
• Leading function at the administrative level and working closely with the artistic direction;
• Seven (7) weeks of vacation leave, consisting of five (5) weeks of summer vacation and two (2) weeks during the holidays;

Profile

• Seven (7) to ten (10) years of management experience in the performing arts;
• Proactivity and autonomy;
• Ability to work under pressure and with changing schedules;
• Very good ability to combine leadership and teamwork;
• Excellent knowledge of French and professional competencies in English.

Responsibilities

• Identify, with artistic direction, development directions and strategies (development and funding activities);
• Establish action plans and procedures;
• In collaboration with the various department heads, oversees agreements and negotiate agreements with suppliers;
• Establish budgets and follow-up as required;
• Prepare and sign grant applications on behalf of the corporation and ensure follow-up and reporting;
• In conjunction with production management, oversees the negotiation of artists and companies involved in theatre activities;
• Human resource management;
• Oversees communications and marketing, in collaboration with artistic and communications directions;
• Coordinate the management of material resources, in collaboration with the person responsible for building management.
