Located in Rosemère, our client is one of the largest English school boards of the Province of Québec and is known for its dynamic work environment. It is looking for an Assistant Director, Corporate Affairs and General Secretariat for a 20-month contract as a replacement for a maternity leave.

Perquisite

Profile

  • Member of the Quebec Bar;
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience;
  • Rigour and great priority management;
  • Flexibility, adaptability and ability to find solutions;
  • Interpersonal, diplomatic and political skills;
  • Perfect oral and written bilingualism (French and English).

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and in support of the Director of Corporate Affairs and Secretary General in her duties;
  • Provide legal opinions regarding the application of various laws including the Education Act and its regulations, the Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the protection of personal information, the Copyright Act, the Act respecting contracting by public bodies and its regulations and the Act respecting school elections;
  • Act as the Contract Rules Compliance Monitor (RARC, responsable de l’application des règles contractuelles) within the school board;
  • Deal with access-to-information requests;
  • Develop various regulations and policies for the School Board;
  • Provide legal advice on a variety of issues, including access to information, copyright and human rights.
