Assistant Director — Material Resources

Our client, an English-speaking school board in Quebec that advocates for stimulating learning, the development of each individual’s full potential and collaboration, is currently seeking to fill an Assistant Director of Material Resources position for its organization located on the South Shore of Montreal.

Profile
- University degree in a relevant filed, a degree in engineering or architecture will be considered an asset;
- Five (5) years of experience in housing stock management, operation, consulting engineering, construction or building construction;
- Excellent command of French and good command of English (intermediate/advanced level);
- Mastery of the Office Suite and the GIEES platform;
- Resourcefulness, organization and willingness to continuously improve;
- Sense of repartee and good interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Run the material resources budget according to pre-established financial parameters, more or less four (4) millions per year;
- Identify the priorities and needs of maintenance and transformation projects, and ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Act respecting contracting by public bodies;
- See to the development and implementation of the new Gestion des infrastructures de l’éducation et de l’enseignement supérieur (GIEES) tool and ensure its management;
- Ensure that the school board’s construction standards are maintained;
- See to the preparation and updating of the emergency response plan;
- Participate in the selection of staff and manage staff under his·her responsibility;
- Any other related tasks assigned by the Director of Material Resources.
