Legal Counsel, Commercial and Corporate Law

Profile

• Member of the Quebec Bar;
• A degree in common law is considered an asset;
• Three (3) to six (6) years of relevant experience;
• Knowledge of commercial law, real estate law, construction law and environmental law an asset;
• Proficiency in French and English;
• Strong organizational and priority management skills;
• Great interpersonal skills, resourcefulness and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment;
• Team player and collaborative spirit.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate, review and draft contracts, such as non-disclosure agreements, supply agreements and leases;
• Assist the company in corporate reorganizations and mergers and acquisitions;
• Responding to legal issues in labour and employment law, environmental law and data protection;
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and draft corporate governance documents;
• Collaborate with various departments and provide advice and support on all corporate projects;
• Manage external counsel;
• Collaborate with the company’s francization committee.
