Perquisites

Profile

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the payroll field. An experience in implementation and the certification to the Canadian Payroll Association will be considered an asset;
  • Command of the Office Suite (thorough knowledge of Excel), and knowledge of the ADP software will be considered an asset;
  • Adaptability, sense of initiative, solution-oriented mindset;
  • Dynamism, willingness to work in a team, and developed leadership skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent customer service skills, autonomy and ability to popularize your words;
  • Sense of urgency and concern for internal customers.

Responsibilities

  • Weekly produce accurate payroll for Montreal-area employees (approximately 350 employees) and eventually for all employees over Quebec;
  • Ensure compliance of payroll files;
  • Coordinate remittances related to the CNESST;
  • Make adjustments to earnings and/or deductions if necessary and validate their accuracy;
  • Identify issues related to payroll processing and forward them to the HR team and/or manager if need be;
  • Reconcile government remittances performed by the payroll provider;
  • Validate data entries in employees’ files related to group insurance and RRSPs;
  • Open files for new employees;
  • Manage vacation requests and disability files;
  • Prepare T4’s, T1’s, year-end closures, etc.;
  • Act as the go-to person for address changes, statement questions, etc.;
  • Review and optimize processes and policies;
  • Perform certain accounting tasks when needed;
  • Ensure the issuance and submission of reconciliation reports to government agencies;
  • Ensure continuous improvement of processes and control measures.
